Responsibilities

  • Contacts regular and prospective customers to solicit orders
  • Makes recommendations, based on customer requirements and needs
  • Provide advice and feedback to clients on products, prices and credit terms

Skills

  • 3 – 5 years packaging estimating experience essential
  • Previous pharmaceutical carton and package insert estimating experience an advantage

Qualifications

Quality Controller

We have a vacancy in our QC Department for the position of Quality Controller and invite suitable candidates to apply. 

 For this position it is essential that candidates are computer literate with exceptional attention to detail and strong administrative skills for document management.

Responsibilities

  • To plan, control and maintain the Quality Control system and the Quality Assurance System before, during or after production to achieve the required cGMP practices
  • Responsible for the implementation and validation of cGMP procedures along the production steps
  • Responsible for overseeing the activities of the Assistant Quality Control Officer during inspection
  • Test finished product using the cGMP checklist relevant to the product being tested
  • Responsible for the approval/signoff of all jobs released to Customer for delivery
  • Handle Quality Audits
  • Audit Reporting
  • Update, maintain and validate SOP book
  • Perform root cause analysis on non-conforming products
  • Training of staff on cGMP procedures

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous QC experience essential (5 – 6 years)

DTP Supervisor

Job description

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of repro personnel. 
  • Provides individual job instruction as required and monitors performance.
  • Checks output for quality and adherence to customer specifications, takes corrective actions as needed.
  • Checks possies to ensure register and copy correctness.
  • Makes final decisions, in conjunction with management.
  • Assists production operators in their work as required.
  • Co-ordinates the maintenance and care of department facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials in a manner which promotes efficiency, health and safety.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
  • To supervise and create print-ready files for artwork.
  • To edit, design layout, typeset and produce documents for publication using desktop publishing.
  • To ensure all work produced is technically correct resulting in high-quality, print-ready files.
  • Assigning and scheduling all production art.
  • To ensure production pieces are produced timely and with the degree of quality promised to the client.
  • To maintain interaction with print production and DTP staff on scope of projects.
  • To provide direction and guidance to DTP staff in preparation of files.
  • To collaborate as and when needed with DTP staff on new projects.
  • To remain current on industry trends and technology.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Be able to create mock-ups for client and suppliers.
  • Have excellent knowledge of paper types and printing techniques.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Management experience in a similar role
  • Three years' experience in lithographic industry

 

Advantageous

  • Carton and leaflet experience
  • Pharmaceutical experience

Folding Operator

Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate machines to prepare for folding of leaflets.
  • Monitor the production line, watching for jams.
  • Clean, oil and make minor adjustments to machinery.
  • Report any major machinery faults to Department Supervisor.
  • Inspect and remove defective leaflets from the folding line.
  • Ensure quality and conformity of folded package inserts.
  • Package the leaflets according to the client specifications.
  • Remove rejected leaflets from packaging line.
  • Count and record finished packaged item in Log book, noting any non-conformity.
  • Delegation of jobs to specific lines.
  • Ensure smooth running of the department, meeting delivery dates as best as possible

Assistant Machine Minder (Lithography Sheet Fed)

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs any combination of following tasks to assist the Press Operator to make ready, operate, and maintain sheet-fed or web offset printing Press.
  • Inserts packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height, fastens reinforcing bars to offset blankets, and installs plates and blankets on press cylinders,using hand tools, to achieve pressure required for printing. 
  • Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging device, tapes, and cams, as directed by Offset-Press Operator using hand tools. 
  • Positions skid of unprinted sheets on feed device of sheet-fed press. Fills ink and dampening solution fountains of press. 
  • Observes press operation to detect machine malfunctions.
  • Stacks skid with blank sheets for printing.
  • Removes loaded skid of printed material from stacking mechanism, and replaces loaded skid with empty skid. 
  • Assists Offset-Press Operator to remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools. 
  • Washes press and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains,using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press. 
  • Keeps daily time, production, and material usage reports. 
  • May lead, give directions to, and monitor work of Feeder.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a printing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar position.

Experienced Driver

A driver position has become available in our Despatch team.  It is imperative that candidates are of sober habits and fit and healthy, due to the physical nature of the position. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive a truck or van primarily to deliver/collect stock/packages.
  • Driver is required to load and unload truck/van.
  • Drive vehicles with capacities under 2 tons in order to transport materials to and from Pro Print and any other specified destinations such as offices, factories, residences etc.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment.
  • Read maps and follow written/verbal directions.
  • Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Verify the contents of the load against delivery notes.
  • Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of delivery etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid and current PDP license
